Nicholas DelTorto elected to Mortgage Bankers Association Residential Board of Governors

Inlanta is please to announce our President, Nicholas DelTorto, was elected to the National Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Residential Board of Governors (RESBOG).With this appointment, DelTorto becomes the first member of the Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Association (WMBA) to be elected to the RESBOG.

“It is an honor to be named to the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Residential Board of Governors,” DelTorto said. “I’m looking forward to working with some of the industry’s most respected and knowledgeable professionals to help represent and guide the residential mortgage financing concerns and challenges of our industry.”

The Mortgage Bankers Association is governed by a Board of Directors containing 26 people who are responsible for the overall management of the organization’s affairs. RESBOG handles the residential interests of MBA members, while the Commercial Real Estate/Multifamily Board of Governors (COMBOG) handles commercial interests.

DelTorto will help carry out the MBA’s mission to establish an environment that enables members to achieve their personal business objectives and come together as a community to act as a voice for important regulatory and legislative issues affecting the industry. The organization seeks to represent all segments of the real estate finance industry and all types of stakeholders, including small town members to major Wall Street players.

DelTorto was also recently presented with the Mortgage Banker of the Year award from the WMBA, a tremendous honor. This award, along with appointment to the board, is a testament to the quality of leadership he brings to the table with Inlanta. Inlanta Mortgage President Installed as President of WMBA

Inlanta Mortgage is pleased to announce its President Nicholas DelTorto was installed as the president of the Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Association (WMBA) on Friday, June 14.

The new officers and board of directors, along with general membership and guests, attended an installation breakfast and meeting at Country Springs Hotel in Pewaukee, with several Inlanta employees attending to support DelTorto.

The guest speaker was Secretary Peter Bildsten of the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI). Secretary Bildsten spoke on a variety of topics relevant to the mortgage industry, including how well the housing market is doing in Wisconsin and the high quality of mortgage originations in Wisconsin compared to those of the nation. He also touched on regulation and licensing updates, including how the DFI is working with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on consumer complaints and audits.

“I am honored to be a part of the leadership team at the WMBA and look forward to working to accomplish the goals and initiatives set by the organization,” President Nicholas DelTorto said. “The WMBA had a great year under past President Dave Rouse’s leadership. The work of the executive committee has set the stage for improved membership value and a more active membership voice on the federal and state issues. During my term I am committed to continuing the standards that have been set by WMBA.”

Along with DelTorto, John Inzeo was installed as secretary/treasurer and Marcia Howe was installed as president-elect for the 2013-2014 term.

“Wealth, opportunity, and the American Dream,” – We all want these things Tommy Thompson declared at the Wisconsin Mortgage Banker’s (WMBA) Officer Installation Breakfast last Friday morning at the Country Springs Hotel in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.

Thompson, Wisconsin’s 42nd Governor and former U.S. Secretary of Heath and Human Services, was the keynote speaker and discussed the mortgage industry’s role in economic recovery. Governor Thompson stressed the importance of organizations such as WMBA that help educate the public and real estate professionals, manage and influence regulatory changes, and cooperate to advance the interests of ethical professionals engaged in selling real estate or originating mortgage loans.

Inlanta Mortgage’s Executive Vice President, Nicholas J. DelTorto is the WMBA’s 2012-2013 President-Elect. Mr. DelTorto agrees with Governor Thompson and believes that together, mortgage and real estate professionals can further advance the quality of the mortgage industry and eliminate the negative perceptions that persist about the industry in general.

“Much of what has been considered ‘bad’ about the mortgage industry – bad loan products and many of the unqualified ‘professionals’ –  just don’t exist anymore,” Mr. DelTorto said. “The industry has been consolidated and most of the bad eggs have been flushed out of the system. What remains is a group of dedicated professionals that adhere to the highest ethical standards and sincerely want to help consumers with their dreams of home ownership. Organizations such as the WMBA allow us to pool our collective knowledge and tackle industry issues head on.”

Shaping the Future of Our Industry

Inlanta Mortgage recently attended an educational seminar focusing on the differences between Generation X and Generation Y and how the mortgage and real estate industry must recognize how these generations are influenced with regards to home buying and financing. The training session was presented by Matthew Ferrara, organized by the Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Education Foundation, and sponsored by Inlanta Mortgage.  Inlanta is proud to be a supporter of the Education Foundation and their efforts in support of the future of the Mortgage Industry.

The Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Education Foundation(WMBEF) is dedicated to promoting, conducting, and creating educational activities for the mortgage banking industry. In addition, the foundation seeks to encourage, recruit, and promote the advancement of minorities in the real estate finance industry. Furthermore, the foundation provides scholarship funds to students focusing on real estate finance at accredited colleges, universities, and technical schools.  Since 1989, the Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Association has awarded over 35 scholarships to men and women pursuing careers in the mortgage banking and real estate industries.

Inlanta Mortgage is proud to announce Executive Vice President Nicholas DelTorto has been elected to the Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Association Board of Directors. DelTorto will serve as the board treasurer and assist with all financial decisions, including the budget.

Outgoing WMBA President Scott Fletcher stated that “the industry remains in the crosshairs of the media, regulators, and many legislators on the state and federal level.” He also affirms the newly appointed board of directors will continue to provide support to members in their efforts to maintain compliance while growing their businesses and lending divisions.
