Veterans Day

Honoring Their Ultimate Sacrifice

Each year, the Veterans Day National Ceremony is held on November 11th at Arlington National Cemetery. The ceremony commences precisely at 11:00 a.m. with a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns and continues inside the Memorial Amphitheater with a parade of colors by veterans’ organizations and remarks from dignitaries. The ceremony is intended to honor and thank all who served in the United States Armed Forces.

Inlanta Mortgage employees celebrate the bravery of our service members and honor those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. We also salute the family members who have suffered from the loss of a loved one during their course of duty.

Ways to Contribute:

According to military.com, there are number of ways to support our veterans and service members this November – or any time of the year. Here are a few suggestions:

Disabled Veterans of American – Disabled Veterans of America (DAV) offers a variety of services to disabled veterans and their families. With more than 1.2 million members, DAV has tremendous reach and provides invaluable service to wounded veterans. DAV provides its members (veterans and their families) help with disability assistance, their VA pensions, job programs and more. It receives no government funding, so donations and gifts are crucial to keep providing services to veterans. DAV offers many ways to give back to the men and women who defended our country.

Wounded Warrior Project – Wounded veterans all require a different recovery process. The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) provides rehabilitation, activities and career counseling for our nation’s wounded warriors and their families. You can support the Wounded Warrior Project in a number of ways: by hosting a Supporter Event, sending letters to an injured service member, giving a monthly gift, or making a donation in honor of a loved one. This holiday season, WWP encourages supporters to establish employee giving drives by creating Casual Fridays, departmental competitions or office parties to benefit WWP.

Veterans Day 2011

Happy Veterans Day!

On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918, fighting ceased between the Allied nations and Germans signifying the end of the “Great War”.

November 11th was officially proclaimed Armistice Day by Woodrow Wilson in 1919. In 1938, Armistice Day was formally recognized as a legal holiday to honor those dedicated to the cause of world peace during World War I. In 1954, Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day to properly recognize American veterans of all wars.

Today we continue to celebrate and honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. We encourage you to thank those who have selflessly put themselves at risk for our safety.

Veterans rightfully receive many benefits for their selfless service – including access to VA Mortgage Loans. Inlanta Mortgage is proud to offer VA Mortgage loan programs and encourages interested veterans to contact their lender to discuss how a VA Mortgage can be obtained. Find a Inlanta Mortgage loan officer near you here.
